Battery Care and Handling

Duracell and Energizer make highly respected, reliable, long lasting replacement batteries.  But to get the best performance from your Duracell or Energizer batteries, it’s important to understand proper replacement battery care, and we hope the following replacement battery guide will “shed a little light” on the Energizer and Duracell batteries you buy from Medic.  As always, if you have a Duracell or Energizer battery care question not addressed here, our customer service experts are always available to give advice or solve problems concerning replacement batteries.

• Every time you install replacement batteries, clean the contact surfaces with a new pencil eraser or a cloth.
• Insert the Duracell or Energizer batteries correctly according to the positive and negative symbols on your device.
• Store your Energizer and Duracell replacement batteries in a cool, dry place.  Room temperature is fine but extreme temperatures reduce battery performance.  It is unnecessary to store batteries in the refrigerator – this does NOT improve performance.
• Don’t mix old and new batteries or mix different brands like Duracell and Energizer.
• Always read your device’s instruction manual and follow the recommendation for battery size.
• Remove batteries from idle devices.
• Only recharge batteries clearly marked “rechargeable”.  NEVER try to recharge a disposable battery.
• NEVER dispose of batteries in fire, as they could explode, leak or rupture.
